Famous quotes containing the words high, school and/or college:

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    Bible: New Testament Ephesians 6:12.

The difference between de jure and de facto segregation is the difference open, forthright bigotry and the shamefaced kind that works through unwritten agreements between real estate dealers, school officials, and local politicians.
    Shirley Chisholm (b. 1924)

Thirty-five years ago, when I was a college student, people wrote letters. Vivian Gornick (b. 1935)
