Famous quotes containing the words extreme and/or points:
“Art knows no happier moment than the opportunity to show the symmetry of an extreme, during that moment of spheric harmony when the dissonance dissolves for the blink of an eye, dissolves into a blissful harmony, when the most extreme opposites, coming together from the greatest alienation, fleetingly touch with lips of the word and of love.”
—Stefan Zweig (18811942)
“Wonderful Force of Public Opinion! We must act and walk in all points as it prescribes; follow the traffic it bids us, realise the sum of money, the degree of influence it expects of us, or we shall be lightly esteemed; certain mouthfuls of articulate wind will be blown at us, and this what mortal courage can front?”
—Thomas Carlyle (17951881)
