GamesMaster International, or GMI, was a roleplaying game magazine in the UK published by Newsfield Publications starting in July 1990. The magazine featured the same editorial team (Tim Metcalfe, Paul Boughton and Wayne ?)of G.M. The Independent Fantasy Roleplaying Magazine. The team approached Newsfield in 1990 to take over the publication after Croftward Publishing ceased trading.
With the knowledge of its former circulation and advertisement income history, Newsfield decided to launch GAMES MASTER INTERNATIONAL on a low-budget and the first issue hit the news stand in July 1990. Unfortunately the gaming market was in deep recession and both circulation and advertisement income targets were never achieved and the magazine ceased trading after 15 issues in October 1991 when Newsfield went into liquidation.
Famous quotes containing the words games and/or master:
“At the age of twelve I was finding the world too small: it appeared to me like a dull, trim back garden, in which only trivial games could be played.”
—Elizabeth Bowen (18991973)
“Man is more disposed to domination than freedom; and a structure of dominion not only gladdens the eye of the master who rears and protects it, but even its servants are uplifted by the thought that they are members of a whole, which rises high above the life and strength of single generations.”
—Karl Wilhelm Von Humboldt (17671835)
