Gabriel Oba-Apounou - Real Estate & Business

Real Estate & Business

Since joining the civil service, Oba-Apounou has heavily invested into real estate. In addition to building over twenty private residences, he also owns the Exaunel hotel chain. He was inspired to start the business in 1999, when Brazzaville was preparing to host the annual FESPAM music festival but had insufficient accommodation venues. Oba-Apounou redesigned one of his many residences and turned it into what would be the first Exaunel hotel. He has since built four additional hotels.

Famous quotes containing the words real, estate and/or business:

    The real stumbling-block of totalitarian rĂ©gimes is not the spiritual need of men for freedom of thought; it is men’s inability to stand the physical and nervous strain of a permanent state of excitement, except during a few years of their youth.
    Simone Weil (1909–1943)

    Sweet are the thoughts that savour of content,
    The quiet mind is richer than a crown;
    Sweet are the nights in careless slumber spent,
    The poor estate scorns Fortune’s angry frown.
    Such sweet content, such minds, such sleep, such bliss,
    Beggars enjoy, when princes oft do miss.
    Robert Greene (1558?–1592)

    ...we shall never be the people we should and might be until we have learned that it is the first and most important business of a nation to protect its women, not by any puling sentimentality of queenship, chivalry or angelhood, but by making it possible for them to earn an honest living.
    Katharine Pearson Woods (1853–1923)
