Gabonese Democratic Party (Parti démocratique gabonais, PDG) was a political party formed in the then-French colony of Gabon in 1945. It merged with the Gabonese Joint Committee (CMG) of Léon M'ba in August 1953 to form the Gabonese Democratic Bloc (BDG). In 1968, a new party replaced the BDG that was also called Gabonese Democratic Party.
Famous quotes containing the words democratic and/or party:
“One reasonperhaps the chiefof the virility of the Roosevelts is [their] very democratic spirit. They have never felt that because they were born in a good position they could put their hands in their pockets and succeed. They have felt, rather, that being born in a good position, there is no excuse for them if they did not do their duty by the community.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (18821945)
“I am proud to be a member of a party that opens its doors to all menand closes its hearts to none.”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (19081973)
