Fuel Cell Bus Club

The Fuel Cell Bus Club comprises the participants of the projects CUTE, ECTOS and STEP. Their website title says "the first fuel cell bus fleet".

They are currently running a two-year Mercedes-Benz Citaro hydrogen fuel cell bus trial using the largest fleet of fuel cell buses in the world, sharing all information. The buses were estimated to cost US$ 1.2 million each and have a range of 300 kilometres (186.4 mi) and carry around 70 passengers.

There are three buses in each of the 11 cities in the trial.

Famous quotes containing the words fuel, cell, bus and/or club:

I had an old axe which nobody claimed, with which by spells in winter days, on the sunny side of the house, I played about the stumps which I had got out of my bean-field. As my driver prophesied when I was plowing, they warmed me twice,—once while I was splitting them, and again when they were on the fire, so that no fuel could give out more heat. As for the axe,... if it was dull, it was at least hung true.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It is plain that there is no separate essence called courage, no cup or cell in the brain, no vessel in the heart containing drops or atoms that make or give this virtue; but it is the right or healthy state of every man, when he is free to do that which is constitutional to him to do.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

There was an old man from Darjeeling
Who got on a bus bound for Ealing.
    It said at the door,
“Please don’t spit on the floor,”
So he carefully spat on the ceiling.

I spoke at a woman’s club in Philadelphia yesterday and a young lady said to me afterwards, “Well, that sounds very nice, but don’t you think it is better to be the power behind the throne?” I answered that I had not had much experience with thrones, but a woman who has been on a throne, and who is now behind it, seems to prefer to be on the throne.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)
