Frieza - Abilities

Abilities

Frieza is first seen moving at superhuman speeds and flying unaided in volume 9. He also appears to have quick reflexes. He is also highly resistant to all but the hardest of physical blows. Additionally, Frieza possesses extreme superhuman strength, along with energy production and projectilization. Frieza has demonstrated being able to destroy planets with relative ease, and has also been shown capable of breathing in the vacuum of space.

Although in other media such as videogames, several techniques are added to his arsenal, the techniques that Frieza uses in Toriyama's manga and its anime adaptation are Death Beam (デスビーム, Desu Bīmu?), a sharp piercing beam from his finger, Death Ball (デスボール, Desu Bōru?), a large energy sphere he used to destroy planet Namek, 100% Death Ball (100%デスボール, 100 Pāsento Desu Bōru?), its name is revealed in the videogames, but Frieza used it against Goku and Super Nova (スーパーノヴァ, Sūpā Nova?), which he used to destroy planet Vejita.

Famous quotes containing the word abilities:

The art of using moderate abilities to good advantage is a way of stealing the esteem of others, and often brings a man into greater reputation than does real merit.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)

Your friends praise your abilities to the skies, submit to you in argument, and seem to have the greatest deference for you; but, though they may ask it, you never find them following your advice upon their own affairs; nor allowing you to manage your own, without thinking that you should follow theirs. Thus, in fact, they all think themselves wiser than you, whatever they may say.
William Lamb Melbourne, 2nd Viscount (1779–1848)

A child is born with the potential ability to learn Chinese or Swahili, play a kazoo, climb a tree, make a strudel or a birdhouse, take pleasure in finding the coordinates of a star. Genetic inheritance determines a child’s abilities and weaknesses. But those who raise a child call forth from that matrix the traits and talents they consider important.
    Emilie Buchwald (20th century)
