Famous quotes containing the words free, word and/or party:

Some are “industrious,” and appear to love labor for its own sake, or perhaps because it keeps them out of worse mischief; to such I have at present nothing to say. Those who would not know what to do with more leisure than they now enjoy, I might advise to work twice as hard as they do,—work till they pay for themselves, and get their free papers.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The word infant derives from Latin words meaning “not yet speaking.” It emphasizes what the child cannot do and reflects the baby’s total dependence on adults. The word toddler, however, demonstrates our change in perspective, for it focuses on the child’s increased mobility and burgeoning independence.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)

This will not be disloyalty but will show that as members of a party they are loyal first to the fine things for which the party stands and when it rejects those things or forgets the legitimate objects for which parties exist, then as a party it cannot command the honest loyalty of its members.
    Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962)
