The Fred Page Cup is a championship ice hockey trophy, won by tournament, conducted by the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The award is given to the winner of a round-robin and playoff between the Bogart Cup champions of the Central Canada Hockey League, the Kent Cup champions of the Maritime Hockey League, La Coupe NAPA Champions of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League, and a pre-determined host team. The winner of the Fred Page Cup moves on to the Junior "A" National Championship known as the Royal Bank Cup. The trophy was donated by the then called Quebec Provincial Junior Hockey League in 1994-95. The Eastern Region "Fred Page Cup" should not be confused with the "Fred Page Cup" that is awarded to the champion of the British Columbia Hockey League's playoffs.
Famous quotes containing the words fred, page and/or cup:
“But the Krell forgot one thing.... Monsters, John, monsters from the id.”
—Cyril Hume, and Fred McLeod Wilcox. Lt. Doc Ostrow (Warren Stevens)
“There is then creative reading as well as creative writing. When the mind is braced by labor and invention, the page of whatever book we read becomes luminous with manifold allusion. Every sentence is doubly significant, and the sense of our author is as broad as the world.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“There is not enough exercise in this way of life. I try to make up by active gymnastics before I dress when I get up, by walking rapidly in the lower hall and the greenhouse after each meal for perhaps five to ten minutes, and a good hand rubbing before going to bed. I eat moderately; drink one cup of coffee at breakfast and one cup of tea at lunch and no other stimulant. My health is now, and usually, excellent.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
