Foreign relations of the Republic of Macedonia are the efforts made by the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs abroad in the interests of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. The Ministry remains dedicated to increased Macedonian inclusion in international organizations, increased recognition by other nations, and assisting in global counter-terrorism operations, in addition to whatever diplomatic needs may arise. These include frequent disagreements with Greece over a variety of issues including the name and flag of Macedonia. Standard bilateral relations also fall under the purview of the Ministry.

Famous quotes containing the words foreign, relations and/or republic:
“It is a curious emotion, this certain homesickness I have in mind. With Americans, it is a national trait, as native to us as the rollercoaster or the jukebox. It is no simple longing for the home town or country of our birth. The emotion is Janus-faced: we are torn between a nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known.”
—Carson McCullers (19171967)
“Society does not consist of individuals but expresses the sum of interrelations, the relations within which these individuals stand.”
—Karl Marx (18181883)
“The first requisite of a good citizen in this republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his weight.”
—Theodore Roosevelt (18581919)
