Florida State Seminoles Football - Uniform

Uniform

Florida State's uniforms are considered among the most iconic in the sport of college football and they have went through very few changes throughout the years. They are thought of as unique because of the tribal influences that they have in respect to the seminole culture that they represent. The team's jersey and helmet have remained relatively unchanged throughout the years. In a poll conducted by ESPN, Florida State was chosen to have the best college helmet.

Famous quotes containing the word uniform:

Iconic clothing has been secularized.... A guardsman in a dress uniform is ostensibly an icon of aggression; his coat is red as the blood he hopes to shed. Seen on a coat-hanger, with no man inside it, the uniform loses all its blustering significance and, to the innocent eye seduced by decorative colour and tactile braid, it is as abstract in symbolic information as a parasol to an Eskimo. It becomes simply magnificent.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

We know, Mr. Weller—we, who are men of the world—that a good uniform must work its way with the women, sooner or later.
    Charles Dickens (1812–1870)

An accent mark, perhaps, instead of a whole western accent—a point of punctuation rather than a uniform twang. That is how it should be worn: as a quiet point of character reference, an apt phrase of sartorial allusion—macho, sotto voce.
    Phil Patton (b. 1953)
