Future
Although the possibility of a freeway west of US 19 is dead today, the possibility of Gandy Boulevard becoming a freeway east of the US 19/Park Boulevard intersection is actually being reconsidered in series of studies. Funding has not yet been finalized, but a recent federal transportation grant made additional funds for the freeway project available. A timetable for the project is also not finalized. If the plan goes through, there would be overpasses at 4th St N/Roosevelt Blvd and MLK St N. However, according to an FDOT representative, there will be no changes made at the interchange with I-275.

Famous quotes containing the word future:
“The past is of no importance. The present is of no importance. It is with the future that we have to deal. For the past is what man should not have been. The present is what man ought not to be. The future is what artists are.
The facts: nothing matters but the facts: worship of the facts leads to everything, to happiness first of all and then to wealth.”
—Edmond De Goncourt (1822–1896)
“After the final no there comes a yes
And on that yes the future world depends.”
—Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)
“A fixed image of the future is in the worst sense ahistorical.”
—Juliet Mitchell (b. 1940)
