Flexible Learning Toolbox

The Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes) Project develops high quality, cost effective elearning content to support training for vocational and technical education qualifications from Certificate I to Diploma level in the Australian vocational and technical education (VTE) sector.

Toolbox materials come in two forms. The traditional (and still popular) Toolbox format is an integrated learning program incorporating a number of units of competency. These programs are available on a CD-ROM for installation on a server or use on a stand-alone computer, and come with a teacher’s guide and installation booklet. They may also be uploaded into a Learning Management System. Toolboxes can be previewed at www.flexiblelearning.net.au/toolbox/preview/byseries.htm .

The new Learning Object format allows users to download smaller self-contained components of content from the Toolbox repository. This can be found on the Flexible Learning Toolbox site at www.flexiblelearning.net.au/toolbox . Learning objects generally support an element or unit of competency.

Teachers and trainers can use Toolbox materials to support traditional classroom delivery or as a learning object to help them deliver more than 152 qualifications and more than 880 competencies from a wide range of nationally endorsed training packages. Toolbox materials can be customised to suit different learner or workplace needs.

Famous quotes containing the words flexible and/or learning:

Freedom is the essence of this faith. It has for its object simply to make men good and wise. Its institutions then should be as flexible as the wants of men. That form out of which the life and suitableness have departed should be as worthless in its eyes as the dead leaves that are falling around us.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

We have got to know what both life and death are, before we can begin to live after our own fashion. Let us be learning our a-b- c’s as soon as possible.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
