Colors
In keeping with other flags in the region, the Pan-African movement's colours of red, yellow, and green are used. As a former French colony it may be no coincidence that the design is a tricolour. The colours of the flag from left to right are the reverse of the flag of Mali.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Language as a real thing is not imitation either of sounds or colors or emotions it is an intellectual recreation and there is no possible doubt about it and it is going to go on being that as long as humanity is anything.”

“Adultery is the vice of equivocation.
It is not marriage but a mockery of it, a merging that mixes love and dread together like jackstraws. There is no understanding of contentment in adultery.... You belong to each other in what together youve made of a third identity that almost immediately cancels your own. There is a law in art that proves it. Two colors are proven complimentary only when forming that most desolate of all colorsneutral gray.”
—Alexander Theroux (b. 1940)
