Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be - Musical Score

Musical Score

The original score and band parts for Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'be were lost sometime after its initial run. The only score which is now available comprises previously published song-copy versions of some of the musical numbers along with hand written material for the remaining songs. There are no band parts and "Meatface" isn't present in any form.

In September 2012 Steve Hill was asked to be Musical Director for a production of the show at Guildford School Of Acting. As part of the pre-production work he re-created the complete score for the original line up (Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trombone, Guitar, Piano, Double Bass and Drums). The only change was that the keys of some of Miriam Karlin's songs were raised so that they would fit a more usual female range.
