Famous quotes containing the words sea and/or lord:

    “When the fierce north-western blast
    Cools sea and land so far and fast,
    Thou already slumberest deep;
    Woe and want thou canst outsleep;
    Want and woe, which torture us,
    Thy sleep makes ridiculous.”
    —Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    “Blessing turned to blasphemies,
    Holy deeds to despites.

    Sin is where our Lady sat,
    Heaven turned is to hell,
    Sathan sits where our Lord did sway,
    Walsingham, Oh farewell!”
    —Unknown. A Lament for the Priory of Walsingham (l. 39–44)
