Fibre Channel Point-to-point

Fibre Channel point-to-point (FC-P2P) is a Fibre Channel topology where exactly two ports (devices) are directly connected to each other.

  • It is the simplest topology, no network addressing is needed, because each message has only one possible receiver.
  • The bandwidth is dedicated.
  • Point-to-point uses N_port.

Famous quotes containing the words fibre and/or channel:

You will hardly know who I am or what I mean,
But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,
And filter and fibre your blood.

Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

This is what the Church is said to want, not party men, but sensible, temperate, sober, well-judging persons, to guide it through the channel of no-meaning, between the Scylla and Charybdis of Aye and no.
    Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801–1890)
