Daughters of Lot
The Qur'an speaks of them in suras 11 (Hud) and 15 (Al-Hijr):
And his people came rushing towards him and they had been long in the habit of practising abominations. He said: "O my people! Here are my daughters: they are purer for you (if ye marry). Now fear God and cover me not with shame about my guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded man?" They said: "Well dost thou know we have no need of thy daughters: indeed thou knowest quite well what we want!" —Qur'an, Sura 11 (Hud), ayat 79Read more about this topic: Female Figures In The Quran

“Violence upon the roads: violence of horses;
Some few have handsome riders, are garlanded
On delicate sensitive ear or tossing mane,
But wearied running round and round in their courses
All break and vanish, and evil gathers head:
Herodias’ daughters have returned again.”
—William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
“You’ll have to learn that public life takes a lot of sweat; but it doesn’t need to worry you. You won’t always be right, but you mustn’t suffer from being wrong. That’s what kills people like us.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
