FC Baia Mare was a Romanian football club, based in Baia Mare, Maramureș, northern Romania. In the 2009–10 season, they played in the Liga II (Romanian second tier football league). The team played at Dealul Florilor Stadium (capacity 15,500), which hosted big names of European football such as Real Madrid, Dinamo Bucharest and Steaua Bucharest in the past. The club was dissolved in the summer of 2010 because of financial problems.
A new club, FC Maramureş Universitar Baia Mare, was founded shortly after the dissolution of the old one, to continue the football tradition in the region.
