Facilities
Fawkner is located in the Fawkner Crematorium and Memorial Park, west of Sydney Road, with station access from the pedestrian crossing from the station's car park.
The station consists of two side platforms; Platform 1 has a small steel shelter, while platform 2 has a fibro building. A Metcard vending machine was located at the entrance to platform 1, which was able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accepted notes and coins, however it is overshadowed by a Myki machine. A coin-only Metcard vending machine was located at the entrance to platform 2. A former mortuary van is situated next to platform 2.
Until 1998 the station had one platform and one track through it (what are now Platform 2 and the Upfield-bound track respectively). The second track and Platform 1 were added as part of the duplication of the line between Fawkner and Gowrie.
