Fairview Park Mall

Fairview Park, situated at 2960 Kingsway Drive, is the largest shopping mall in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada with 730,000 square feet (68,000 m2) of Gross leasable area and 120 stores. It is owned and operated by Cadillac Fairview.

Fairview Park opened in 1966, in the Parkway neighbourhood of the recently expanded City of Kitchener, between Kingsway Drive, Wilson Avenue, Fairway Road, and Highway 8. The mall's presence over the years has turned Fairway Road into a major commercial strip.. It is one of the 4 biggest malls in the Tri-Cities. The initial department-store anchors were Simpsons-Sears on the south end and a Zehrs supermarket at the north end. A new wing with Woolco was added on the east in the 1970s along with 20 stores, and Simpsons on the west was added in the 1980s along with 40 more stores. In the time since, Simpsons-Sears has become simply Sears, Woolco has been replaced by Wal-Mart, and Simpson's became The Bay. The small Zehrs supermarket was formerly located facing Kingsway Drive; this moved to Weber Street and its space was redeveloped, partially into the current food court and partially into a PharmaPlus location (which later closed).

Starting in early 2007, the mall underwent a major $33.4-million redevelopment which was completed by the end of that summer. This renovation includes a brand new food court and new interiors, including higher ceilings. The parking lot was also refurbished. It was the first major renovation since 1986.

The mall is accessible from Highway 8 and Fairway Road, and is serviced by many Grand River Transit bus routes connecting to the surrounding areas of Kitchener and to Cambridge and Waterloo.
