Differences Between Versions of XAML
There are four Microsoft main implementations of XAML:
- The Windows Presentation Foundation version, which is used for the .NET Framework beginning with .NET Framework 3.0
- The Silverlight 3 version
- The Silverlight 4 version
- The Windows 8 XAML/Jupiter version
These versions have some differences in the parsing behavior.
Additionally, the XAML parsing between Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4 is not backward compatible. XAML files which are accepted by Silverlight 3 may not be accepted or parsed differently in Silverlight 4.

Famous quotes containing the words differences between, differences and/or versions:
“The mother must teach her son how to respect and follow the rules. She must teach him how to compete successfully with the other boys. And she must teach him how to find a woman to take care of him and finish the job she began of training him how to live in a family. But no matter how good a job a woman does in teaching a boy how to be a man, he knows that she is not the real thing, and so he tends to exaggerate the differences between men and women that she embodies.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
“Toddlerhood resembles adolescence because of the rapidity of physical growth and because of the impulse to break loose of parental boundaries. At both ages, the struggle for independence exists hand in hand with the often hidden wish to be contained and protected while striving to move forward in the world. How parents and toddlers negotiate their differences sets the stage for their ability to remain partners during childhood and through the rebellions of the teenage years.”
—Alicia F. Lieberman (20th century)
“The assumption must be that those who can see value only in tradition, or versions of it, deny mans ability to adapt to changing circumstances.”
—Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
