The European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem) is a European Technology Platform (ETP) initiative to improve the competitive situation of the European Union in the field of chemistry in three domains: Industrial Biotechnology, Materials Technology, and Reaction and Process Design.
The programme is a joint initiative (Public-Private Partnership) of the European Commission, representing the European Communities, and the industry. The main objective of the programma is to produce and implement a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA).
Famous quotes containing the words european, technology, platform and/or chemistry:
“Americans want action for their money. They are fascinated by its self-reproducing qualities if its put to work.... Gold-hoarding goes against the American grain; it fits in better with European pessimism than with Americas traditional optimism.”
—Paula Nelson (b. 1945)
“Primitive peoples tried to annul death by portraying the human bodywe do it by finding substitutes for the human body. Technology instead of mysticism!”
—Max Frisch (19111991)
“I have never yet spoken from a public platform about women in industry that someone has not said, But things are far better than they used to be. I confess to impatience with persons who are satisfied with a dangerously slow tempo of progress for half of society in an age which requires a much faster tempo than in the days that used to be. Let us use what might be instead of what has been as our yardstick!”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
“If thought makes free, so does the moral sentiment. The mixtures of spiritual chemistry refuse to be analyzed.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
