European Environment Agency - Annual Discharge Process

Annual Discharge Process

On February 2012, the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control published a draft report identifying potential areas of concern in the use of funds and influence for the 2010 budget. The EEA's Executive Director refused allegations of irregularities in a public hearing

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) voted on the report on March 27, 2012 and commended the cooperation between the Agency and NGOs working in the environmental area. On 23 October 2012, the European Parliament voted and granted the discharge to the European Environment Agency for its 2010 budget.

Famous quotes containing the words annual, discharge and/or process:

I would not have every man nor every part of a man cultivated, any more than I would have every acre of earth cultivated: part will be tillage, but the greater part will be meadow and forest, not only serving an immediate use, but preparing a mould against a distant future, by the annual decay of the vegetation which it supports.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

“Weren’t you relieved to find he wasn’t dead?”
“No! and yet I don’t know it’s hard to say.
I went about to kill him fair enough.”
“You took an awkward way. Did he discharge you?”
Discharge me? No! He knew I did just right.”
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Any balance we achieve between adult and parental identities, between children’s and our own needs, works only for a time—because, as one father says, “It’s a new ball game just about every week.” So we are always in the process of learning to be parents.
