During the 2007 football season, Dickerson worked as a broadcaster for KCBS television in Los Angeles, providing commentary for NFL pregame and postgame shows. Famous quotes containing the words pro and/or football:

It is sweet and honourable to die for one’s country.
[Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.]
Horace [Quintus Horatius Flaccus] (65–8 B.C.)

In football they measure forty-yard sprints. Nobody runs forty yards in basketball. Maybe you run the ninety-four feet of the court; then you stop, not on a dime, but on Miss Liberty’s torch. In football you run over somebody’s face.
    Donald Hall (b. 1928)
