Ent Air Force Base

Ent Air Force Base was a United States Army and Air Force installation of World War II and the Cold War at the site of a closed sanatorium along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. In addition to the ADCOM & NORAD operations centers and the SPADATS Operation Center, the installation was the site of command headquarters of ADCOM, ARAACOM, and NORAD; as well as the Fifteenth Air Force of Strategic Air Command and the Fourteenth Aerospace Force of Aerospace Defense Command.

Famous quotes containing the words air, force and/or base:

The air is precious to the red man, for all things share the same breath—the beast, the tree, the man, they all share the same breath. The white man does not seem to notice the air he breathes. Like a man dying for many days, he is numb to the stench.
    Attributed to Seattle (c. 1784–1866)

Let him [the President] once win the admiration and confidence of the country, and no other single force can withstand him, no combination of forces will easily overpower him.... If he rightly interpret the national thought and boldly insist upon it, he is irresistible; and the country never feels the zest of action so much as when the President is of such insight and caliber.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

Yet herein will I imitate the sun,
Who doth permit the base contagious clouds
To smother up his beauty from the world,
That when he please again to be himself,
Being wanted, he may be more wondered at
By breaking through the foul and ugly mists
Of vapors that did seem to strangle him
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
