History
Endicott was founded in 1939 by Eleanor Tupper and her husband, George O. Bierkoe, as a two-year women’s college, with a mission of educating women for greater independence and an enhanced position in the workplace. The college was issued its first charter by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that same year and graduated its first class in 1941. In 1944, it was approved by the state for the granting of associate's degrees. In 1952, Endicott was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In 1994, the College became co-educational.
