The Emergency Medicine Journal is a peer-reviewed medical journal. It is the official journal of the College of Emergency Medicine (formerly of the British Association for Emergency Medicine), as well as the British Association for Immediate Care and the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. It is focused on developments in the field of emergency medicine and critical care in both the hospital and pre-hospital environments, publishing original research, case reports, review articles, letters, and best evidence topic reports ("Best BETs"). It is published monthly, with supplements covering the College of Emergency Medicine conferences.
The journal was established in March 1984 under the title Archives of Emergency Medicine, and was renamed Journal of Accident and Emergency Medicine in 1994, before getting its current title in March 2000.
