Red Circle With White Star and Crescent
A circular section of the red Flag of Turkey containing the white star and crescent is used in the current emblems of a number of Turkish ministries and governmental institutions, in the emblem of the Turkish Parliament, and as the flag badge on the uniforms of Turkish national sports teams and athletes. It was also used on the old (non-digital) Turkish identity cards.

Famous quotes containing the words red, circle, white, star and/or crescent:
“Lets face it, I have been momentary.
A luxury. A bright red sloop in the harbor,”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“A beauty is not suddenly in a circle. It comes with rapture. A great deal of beauty is rapture. A circle is a necessity. Otherwise you would see no one. We each have our circle.”

“The white hive is snug as a virgin,
Sealing off her brood cells, her honey, and quietly humming.
Smoke rolls and scarves in the grove.
The mind of the hive thinks this is the end of everything.”
—Sylvia Plath (19321963)
“Find out the peaceful hermitage,
The hairy gown and mossy cell,
Where I may sit and rightly spell
Of every star that heaven doth show,
And every herb that sips the dew;
Till old experience do attain
To something like prophetic strain.
These pleasures Melancholy give,
And I with thee will choose to live.”
—John Milton (16081674)
“On me your voice falls as they say love should,
Like an enormous yes. My Crescent City
Is where your speech alone is understood.”
—Philip Larkin (19221986)
