Women Transforming Cities International Society
Before leaving the Vancouver City Council, Woodsworth and the chair of the city's Women's Advisory Committee founded Women Transforming Cities. This organization conducts multi-lingual dialogues in the World Cafe format, to bring out women's suggestions for how their city could become safer and more suited to their needs. This process will culminate in activities at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities meeting in Vancouver in 2013.

Famous quotes containing the words women, transforming, cities and/or society:
“When women finally get liberated, they’ll do the same that men do—dog eat dog— that’s what our culture is.... Not cooperation but assassination. Women will cooperate until they attain certain goals. Then one will begin to destroy the other.”
—Alice Neel (1900–1984)
“America is the civilization of people engaged in transforming themselves. In the past, the stars of the performance were the pioneer and the immigrant. Today, it is youth and the Black.”
—Harold Rosenberg (1906–1978)
“Lord, how long?”
—Bible: Hebrew Isaiah, 6:11.
Asking how long will the chastisement of the people last. God replies, “Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, and the Lord have removed man far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.”
“It is an esoteric doctrine of society that a little wickedness is good to make muscle; as if conscience were not good for hands and legs.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
