Ellen Travolta - Biography

Biography

She is the eldest sibling of John Travolta and is probably best known for her portrayal of Louisa Arcola Delvecchio, the mother of Chachi Arcola (Scott Baio) in the 1950s-based sitcom Happy Days, and unsuccessful spinoff, Joanie Loves Chachi. She also played the mother of Baio's character on Charles in Charge from 1987 to 1990.

Her first truly notable role came playing Mrs. Horshack-O'Hara in three episodes of Welcome Back, Kotter. Her brother, John Travolta, portrayed Vinnie Barbarino in the series. Later in the 1970s, she played Dorothy Manucci in the short-lived series Makin' It.

She also played Marion Keisker in John Carpenter's renowned 1979 film "Elvis".

Famous quotes containing the word biography:

As we approached the log house,... the projecting ends of the logs lapping over each other irregularly several feet at the corners gave it a very rich and picturesque look, far removed from the meanness of weather-boards. It was a very spacious, low building, about eighty feet long, with many large apartments ... a style of architecture not described by Vitruvius, I suspect, though possibly hinted at in the biography of Orpheus.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

In how few words, for instance, the Greeks would have told the story of Abelard and Heloise, making but a sentence of our classical dictionary.... We moderns, on the other hand, collect only the raw materials of biography and history, “memoirs to serve for a history,” which is but materials to serve for a mythology.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The death of Irving, which at any other time would have attracted universal attention, having occurred while these things were transpiring, went almost unobserved. I shall have to read of it in the biography of authors.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
