Electronic Battleship: Advanced Mission

Electronic Battleship: Advanced Mission

Electronic Battleship Advanced Mission is a commercial variant of the classic game Battleship published by Milton Bradley. The objective, like all other versions of the game, is to sink your opponent's fleet of five ships.

Unlike previous versions of Battleship, players have access to special weapons that can hit multiple grid squares in one turn. Also available are scanning systems, which allow players to locate fleets without firing.

Currently there are two different versions of this game available.

Famous quotes containing the words electronic, advanced and/or mission:

Sometimes, because of its immediacy, television produces a kind of electronic parable. Berlin, for instance, on the day the Wall was opened. Rostropovich was playing his cello by the Wall that no longer cast a shadow, and a million East Berliners were thronging to the West to shop with an allowance given them by West German banks! At that moment the whole world saw how materialism had lost its awesome historic power and become a shopping list.
    John Berger (b. 1926)

I don’t say ‘tis impossible for an impudent man not to rise in the world, but a moderate merit with a large share of impudence is more probable to be advanced than the greatest qualifications without it.
    Mary Wortley, Lady Montagu (1689–1762)

Perhaps the mission of those who love mankind is to make people laugh at the truth, to make truth laugh, because the only truth lies in learning to free ourselves from insane passion for the truth.
    Umberto Eco (b. 1932)
