Famous quotes containing the words higher education, education and/or higher:
“... the majority of colored men do not yet think it worth while that women aspire to higher education.... —Anna Julia Cooper (1859–1964)
“We find that the child who does not yet have language at his command, the child under two and a half, will be able to cooperate with our education if we go easy on the “blocking” techniques, the outright prohibitions, the “no’s” and go heavy on “substitution” techniques, that is, the redirection or certain impulses and the offering of substitute satisfactions.”
—Selma H. Fraiberg (20th century)
“Slavery can only be abolished by raising the character of the people who compose the nation; and that can be done only by showing them a higher one.”
—Maria Weston Chapman (1806–1885)
