History
EPI was founded in 1986 by economists Jeff Faux, Lester Thurow, Ray Marshall, Barry Bluestone, Robert Reich, and Robert Kuttner. EPI's president is Lawrence Mishel, a long-time member of Democratic Socialists of America.
