East Rikuu Line
The Rikuu East Line (陸羽東線, Rikuu-tō-sen?) is a rail line in Japan. Part of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) system, it runs from Kogota Station in Misato, Miyagi Prefecture to Shinjō Station in Shinjō, Yamagata Prefecture, acting as a connector between the Tōhoku Main Line, Ōu Main Line, and Tōhoku Shinkansen in the southern Tōhoku region, and provides access to north-western Miyagi Prefecture and north-eastern Yamagata Prefecture. It connects with the Ishinomaki Line and Tōhoku Main Line in Misato, the Tōhoku Shinkansen in Ōsaki, and the Ōu Main Line and Yamagata Shinkansen in Shinjō. Its name refers to the ancient provinces of Mutsu (陸奥) and Dewa (出羽) (or alternatively, the Meiji-era provinces of Rikuzen (陸前) and Uzen (羽前)), which the line connects.

Famous quotes containing the words east and/or line:
“Next to the originator of a good sentence is the first quoter of it. Many will read the book before one thinks of quoting a passage. As soon as he has done this, that line will be quoted east and west.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Any walk through a park that runs between a double line of mangy trees and passes brazenly by the ladies toilet is invariably known as Lovers Lane.”
