Production and Products
The brand is currently owned by Brown-Forman and is produced at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. Most of the Early Times which is now sold in the U.S. is not legally a bourbon whiskey, and labeled as "Kentucky Whisky", because some of the spirit in Early Times is aged in used barrels, while bourbon must be aged in new barrels according to the legal requirements for bourbon. It is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.
In December 2010, Brown-Forman introduced a new variation of the brand called Early Times 354 in the United States, which meets the requirements for a straight bourbon.

“The production of too many useful things results in too many useless people.”
—Karl Marx (18181883)
“But, most of all, the Great Society is not a safe harbor, a resting place, a final objective, a finished work. It is a challenge constantly renewed, beckoning us toward a destiny where the meaning of our lives matches the marvelous products of our labor.”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (19081973)
