Dropped

Dropped

Dropped is the fifth full-length album by industrial/hip hop artists Consolidated, which was released in 1998. The title could be a reaction to having been "dropped" by London Records because of poor album sales, but in some interviews Adam Sherburne explained that the title is a general reference to men having "dropped the ball" -- having failed to live up to their responsibilities -- in their relationships.

Famous quotes containing the word dropped:

“If I hit him, he’ll hit me too,” Anton Petrovich thought in a flash. He pulled off the glove with a final yank and threw it awkwardly at Berg. The glove slapped against the wall and dropped into the washstand pitcher.
    “Good shot,” said Berg.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

I wonder what subtle form of manslaughter is next on the program. Am I to be dropped into a vat of molten steel and become part of a new skyscraper, or are you going to ask this female to kiss me again and poison me to death?
    Ernest Lehman (b.1920)

The hippie is the scion of surplus value. The dropout can only claim sanctity in a society which offers something to be dropped out of—career, ambition, conspicuous consumption. The effects of hippie sanctimony can only be felt in the context of others who plunder his lifestyle for what they find good or profitable, a process known as rip-off by the hippie, who will not see how savagely he has pillaged intricate and demanding civilizations for his own parodic lifestyle.
    Germaine Greer (b. 1939)
