Doug Stanhope - Politics

Politics

Stanhope is known as a libertarian comedian but is a self-described anarchist. In 2004, he endorsed the Free State Project, and was quoted as saying, "The Free State Project stands out as one of few ideas that could produce tangible change in our lifetime. The vision of Christian gun enthusiasts buying hand-painted targets from pot-smoking artists, laughing together while they give the tax man the finger, is beautiful enough to make the move." In 2012, Stanhope endorsed the Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson.

Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.
    Mao Zedong (1893–1976)

Of course, in the reality of history, the Machiavellian view which glorifies the principle of violence has been able to dominate. Stefan Zweig (18811942)

    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
