The novel was made into a TV film, Dr. Fischer of Geneva, in 1985, starring James Mason (in his last role) as Dr. Fischer, Alan Bates as Alfred Jones, and Greta Scacchi as Anna-Luise. It was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg.
