Diary (Sunny Day Real Estate Album)

Diary (Sunny Day Real Estate Album)

Diary is the debut studio album from the Seattle-based emo band Sunny Day Real Estate. The album is considered by many to be a defining emo album of the second wave. It has also been called the missing link between post-hardcore and the nascent emo genre.

Diary was remastered and reissued in 2009, with bonus tracks "8" and "9" from their 1993 7-inch Thief, Steal Me A Peach and newly written liner notes.

Famous quotes containing the words diary, day, real and/or estate:

A diary is more or less the work of a man of clay whose hands are clumsy and in whose eyes there is no light.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

We mean to exhibit ourselves here on New Year’s day in homespun [clothing].
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

I have no connections here; only gusty collisions,
rootless seedlings forced into bloom, that collapse.
    ...
I am the Visiting Poet: a real unicorn,
a wind-up plush dodo, a wax museum of the Movement.
People want to push the buttons and see me glow.
    Marge Piercy (b. 1936)

Sweet are the thoughts that savour of content,
    The quiet mind is richer than a crown;
Sweet are the nights in careless slumber spent,
The poor estate scorns Fortune’s angry frown.
Such sweet content, such minds, such sleep, such bliss,
Beggars enjoy, when princes oft do miss.
    Robert Greene (1558?–1592)
