Aoki's hobbies include writing poetry, playing the drums and tending to her two pet snakes. Her half-brother, Steve Aoki, is a Los Angeles DJ and the founder of Dim Mak Records.
Aoki briefly dated Joseph Gordon-Levitt.As of January 2011, Aoki is engaged to James Bailey. She gave birth to their first child, Hunter, in June 2011.
