There are a number of different methods for describing speech in the English language

  • Bob shouted "Ahhh!"
  • "Ahhh!" shouted Bob
  • "Ahhh!" shouted Bob at the top of his voice
  • "Ouch!" gasped Bob painfully
  • "Run!" shouted Sally "The dog is after us."
