Publishing Controversy

In the 1980s, Rawlins had a dispute with Michael Hoskin, editor of the Journal for the History of Astronomy, over the quality and equity of refereeing standards at that journal. Rawlins in 1991 founded his own journal, DIO, the International Journal of Scientific History. Since founding DIO, Rawlins has used its pages both as an outlet for work and as a forum to lampoon his rivals.

Famous quotes containing the words publishing and/or controversy:

While you continue to grow fatter and richer publishing your nauseating confectionery, I shall become a mole, digging here, rooting there, stirring up the whole rotten mess where life is hard, raw and ugly.
    Norman Reilly Raine (1895–1971)

And therefore, as when there is a controversy in an account, the parties must by their own accord, set up for right Reason, the Reason of some Arbitrator, or Judge, to whose sentence, they will both stand, or their controversy must either come to blows, or be undecided, for want of a right Reason constituted by Nature; so is it also in all debates of what kind soever.
    Thomas Hobbes (1579–1688)
