Famous quotes containing the words ethnic, religious and/or groups:
“Caprice, independence and rebellion, which are opposed to the social order, are essential to the good health of an ethnic group. We shall measure the good health of this group by the number of its delinquents. Nothing is more immobilizing than the spirit of deference.”
—Jean Dubuffet (19011985)
“Yet the New Testament treats of man and mans so-called spiritual affairs too exclusively, and is too constantly moral and personal, to alone content me, who am not interested solely in mans religious or moral nature, or in man even.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“... until both employers and workers groups assume responsibility for chastising their own recalcitrant children, they can vainly bay the moon about ignorant and unfair public criticism. Moreover, their failure to impose voluntarily upon their own groups codes of decency and honor will result in more and more necessity for government control.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
