Club Career

Dayro Moreno won the Copa Libertadores 2004 with Once Caldas beating Boca Juniors in the final. In that same year he played with Once Caldas the Intercontinental Cup final, lost after a penalty shoot-out against UEFA Champions League winners FC Porto.

In the summer of 2007 there were rumours and subsequent offers for Dayro to play in the Croatian league. But hearing Boca Juniors had interest in him, and demanding too much from the Croatians the deal was cancelled, and in 2007 he resumed play for Caldas.

Famous quotes containing the words club and/or career:

The creation of “strong-minded” women, so-called, is due to the individualism of men, to the modern selfish and speculative spirit which absorbs everything within itself and leaves women nothing but self-assertion for their protection and support.
“Jennie June” Croly 1829–1901, U.S. founder of the woman’s club movement, journalist, author, editor. Demorest’s Illustrated Monthly and Mirror of Fashions, p. 44 (February 1870)

A black boxer’s career is the perfect metaphor for the career of a black male. Every day is like being in the gym, sparring with impersonal opponents as one faces the rudeness and hostility that a black male must confront in the United States, where he is the object of both fear and fascination.
    Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
