Dawn Lake (20 January 1927 – 1 January 2006) was an Australian television comedian, singer, entertainer and actor, whose career spanned more than four decades. Bert Newton described her as "our greatest comedienne - Australia's Lucille Ball". She was particularly associated in show business with her husband Bobby Limb.
Famous quotes containing the words dawn and/or lake:
“Not until just before dawn do people sleep best; not until people get old do they become wise.”
—Chinese proverb.
“Such were the first rude beginnings of a town. They spoke of the practicability of a winter road to the Moosehead Carry, which would not cost much, and would connect them with steam and staging and all the busy world. I almost doubted if the lake would be there, the self-same lake, preserve its form and identity, when the shores should be cleared and settled; as if these lakes and streams which explorers report never awaited the advent of the citizen.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
