Famous quotes containing the words political and, political, economic and/or views:
“Common hypocrites pass themselves off as doves; political and literary hypocrites pose as eagles. But dont be fooled by their eagle-like appearance. These are not eagles, but rats or dogs.”
—Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (18601904)
“[The political mind] is a strange mixture of vanity and timidity, of an obsequious attitude at one time and a delusion of grandeur at another time. The political mind is the product of men in public life who have been twice spoiled. They have been spoiled with praise and they have been spoiled with abuse.”
—Calvin Coolidge (18721933)
“If in the earlier part of the century, middle-class children suffered from overattentive mothers, from being mothers only accomplishment, todays children may suffer from an underestimation of their needs. Our idea of what a child needs in each case reflects what parents need. The childs needs are thus a cultural football in an economic and marital game.”
—Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
“Your views are now my own.”
