Biography
Simmons attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana together with future R&B producer-songwriter-singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. The two have been close friends over the years, and have also had a lasting musical collaboration. The duo would play the piano at Simmons’ home, and were both members of the ‘70’s R & B group Manchild which had a minor R&B hit with “Especially for You” in 1977.
