A Cameroonian international since 2000, Kome was also part of the nation's winning team at that year's Summer Olympic Games.
At full level, he appeared twice at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and played in four contests for the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations winners, in Egypt. Kome was also selected for the 2004 and 2006 editions; in the latter, he scored in the epic 11–12 penalty shootout quarterfinal loss against Ivory Coast.

Famous quotes containing the word career:
“What exacerbates the strain in the working class is the absence of money to pay for services they need, economic insecurity, poor daycare, and lack of dignity and boredom in each partners job. What exacerbates it in upper-middle class is the instability of paid help and the enormous demands of the career system in which both partners become willing believers. But the tug between traditional and egalitarian models of marriage runs from top to bottom of the class ladder.”
—Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
