College Career

After graduating from high school, Huard attended the University of Washington, where he redshirted as a freshman in 1991. He started for the first time in 1993, and continued as a starter through his senior season in 1995. That season, he passed for 2,415 yards and 11 touchdowns. He finished his career as the Huskies' all-time passing leader with 5,692 yards. During his 1994 season he threw an interception against the University of Oregon that led to a touchdown costing them the game. This sent Oregon to the Rose Bowl and is the most famous play in Oregon football history.

Famous quotes containing the words college and/or career:

... [a] girl one day flared out and told the principal “the only mission opening before a girl in his school was to marry one of those candidates [for the ministry].” He said he didn’t know but it was. And when at last that same girl announced her desire and intention to go to college it was received with about the same incredulity and dismay as if a brass button on one of those candidate’s coats had propounded a new method for squaring the circle or trisecting the arc.
    Anna Julia Cooper (1859–1964)

“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your children’s infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married!” That’s total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art “scientific” parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
